Let’s Talk Dogs

SO WHAT IS IT?

Let’s Talk Dogs is a full day workshop for dog owners based in Lebanon. In different seminars conducted by some of the country’s leading dog professionals, the participants learn about first-aid, nutrition, grooming and training. The goal is to establish a happier, healthier relationship between human and dog, that is based on mutual understanding. The workshop will end with a Panel discussion starring Lebanese animal NGO’s to discuss animal welfare in Lebanon, top misconceptions about Animal Welfare Organizations, what obstacles they face, where they are, what is next and what our community can help with to build a pet-friendly society down the road.

Where: Beirut Digital District, Bechara El Khoury Street, Building 1280

Who Can Attend: We kindly ask to keep your dogs and kids under the age of 16 at home. As much as we love to meet your lovely kids and furry friends; they will be a distraction to your fellow attendees. We want to make sure you get the best out of it.

Cost: $25 including breakfast, lunch and some gifts 🙂 PS: This is a non-profit event.

Meet The Speakers

Dr. Myra Tabet (Pawesome Organic)

To present (Dog First Aid, Diet Health and Nutrition)

Dr Mira Tabet is a holistic vet with a degree in Veterinary Sciences from AUB and a Doctors degree from Szent Istvan University in Hungary, one of Europes leading vetenirary schools. Her passion and devotion for animals lets her explore new more natural methods of treament primarly through a healthy balanced nutrition. Other than being a strong advocate for animals and their health, she is currently studying for her Doctorates degree, owner of Pawesome Organic, and a sports enthusiast.

Sevine Fakhoury (Volunteer & Board Member at BETA)

Volunteer and board member at BETA (Beirut for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) established to improve the lives of animals in the region with a mission to  to strive towards ensuring that one day all animals in Lebanon will get the chance to live safely and securely.

Bechara Hitti (Bright Animals)

To present (Dog Training in a Modern World)

Bechara founded Bright Animals in 2011, the first Lebanese humane dog training company and 2 years later he started the first cruelty-free dog hotel in the country. He is a converted computer programmer who quit a 15 years long IT career to study animal behavior. He has trained thousands of people struggling with doggy issues and specializes in dog aggression.

Jason Mier (Animals Lebanon)

Jason Mier has proudly served as the Executive Director since the organizations founding in 2008. Animals Lebanon has drafted and lobbied for the recently enacted National Animal Protection and Welfare Law and successfully campaigned to have Lebanon become a party to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. He led an eight-year court battle setting a legal precedent recognizing that animals have both physical and mental welfare as well as intrinsic rights and interests that come before the claims of an owner. Prior to joining Animals Lebanon he worked throughout Africa, the Middle East and Europe focusing on the rescue and care of chimpanzees and investigating the global trafficking of great apes.

Nader Zaatari (Petriotics.com)

Event Moderator

Founded Petriotics in 2016 with the dream of introducing a new experience to fellow pet parents and making raising a pet more pleasant by eliminating the hassle of having to go to your traditional store to pickup your pet supplies. Nader believes that focusing and listening carefully to the community has shaped what Petriotics is today and is being designed to maximize a happy experience.
